New Dodge Challenger Configurator Goes Online, Hellcat Can be Leased from $547/Month

After revealing the 2015 Challenger at this year's New York Auto Show, Dodge has finally fired up the online configurator and boy you've got a lot of things to choose from. The Challenger is one of those few cars that can be kitted with a lot of factory options.

The cheapest model of the lot is the 2015 Dodge Challenger SXT. For $26,995 of your hard-eanred bucks, the manufacturer will equip your SXT with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 305 horsepower and 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) of torque on tap, a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, keyless entry, power windows and mirrors, Hill Start Assist, 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment unit, a six-speaker audio system with controls on the steering wheel and 18-inch Satin Carbon aluminum wheels.

The SXT Plus offers more for $3k over the entry-level SXT, but the R/T is where the fun really begins. Starting from $31,495 for the least kitted model all the way to $38,495 for the R/T Scat Pack, all of them are propelled by a proper 5.7-liter HEMI V8 motor rated 375 ponies and a chunky 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of torque. It's needless to say that in terms of equipment, the R/T is that little bit more gifted than the SXT and SXT Plus. However, the R/T comes as standard with a six-speed Tremec stick shift. The eight-speed auto will set you back $1,400. Then there's the SRT 392 and its bad boy 6.4-liter naturally-aspirated HEMI V8 that lets you enjoy 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) for a slightly hefty $45,995.

But we have a sneaking suspicion that your mind and heart are set on the full-on $59,995 SRT Hellcat model and its thumping great 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that churns out 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque. Besides an engine block heater, the only other powertrain option is the heavy-duty TorqueFlite automatic, which costs $1,995 in this case. You want a power sunroof? That'll be "just" $1,195, dear sir! HD radio and satellite navigation will set you back a further $695. The good news is that the wicked Sublime Green Pearl Coat exterior hue doesn't cost anything. Only the Ivory White Tri-Coat Pearl and Phantom Black Tri-Coat hues are optional. Both of them are priced at just $500.

By the way, $547 per month is as low as Dodge can go if you want to lease a bone stock SRT Hellcat. Enough jibber-jabber. Follow this link and start building your own 2015 model year Dodge Challenger.
