New Dacia Sandero II Photos, Interior Gets 7-Inch Display

The Dacia brand is undergoing the biggest changes in its entire history. This started in Geneva this March with the launch of the Lodgy, followed by the Dokker and Dokker Van, and now the 2012 Paris Motor Show will witness the reveal of the new Logan and Sandero.

We’ve already shown you the new cheap sedan that will soon roll out of Dacia’s Romanian factories. Now, we bring you the very latest official photos of the Sandero 2 hatchback/supermini.

Since the Sandero was launched in Europe only four years ago, in 2008, this is likely a severe makeover of the existing architecture. But buyers definitely don’t have much to complain about, as the styling, the engines and the interior are all new and better.

The Sandero 2 has a new type of grille design, with a double chrome bar design and a mesh backing, much more upmarket than the current car. The interior has also been completely reworked, with a large 7-inch (18cm) display making its appearance.

This will permit touch controls of six functions in total: radio, media, phone, hands free calls, maps and navigation plus car settings. Though the French magazine that released these leaked official photos does not say this, we believe the touchscreen to be a €400 optional extra. Should you chose not go for it, you’re likely going to have a cubby under the radio.

The new base price for the Sandero should be somewhere around €7,900 for the base 1.2-liter 75 hp engine. A beefed-up Sandero Stepway should also be launched.

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
