New Corvette Variant to Debut at New York Auto Show

With the New York Auto Show just around the corner, American automakers are preparing to unveil all sorts of facelifted and all-new models. General Motors makes no exception on its home turf. According to Chevrolet, a new variant of the seventh-generation Corvette will debut in the Big Apple on April 15. Unfortunately, no hints were given of what's in store for the newest Corvette family member. An earlier report said that a hardcore Z06X model is in the making for track-focused action junkies. However, it's a little bit too soon for that car to come out, so we're betting our bucks on a limited-edition package with all sorts of aesthetic goodies.

Chevy will debut two other cars at the New York Auto Show. One of them could be the new Trax compact crossover, which is already on sale in Canada. However, some voices suggest there's a high possibility for the freshened up 2015 Spark subcompact to take the stage in favor of the Trax.

As for the third model Chevrolet will bring at the show, things are also unclear, but recent spy photos of the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze made us wonder if this will be that car. An updated version of the current model has been spotted on a trailer by the carparazzi in China, while the all-new model has been seen outside of General Motors' Shanghai plant last week.

In the end, we'll have to sit and wait until April 15 for the New York Auto Show's doors to open in order to find the answers to these questions. If anything happens in the meantime, stay close because we'll report it right away.
