New Citroen Relay 35 Delivered to Contact Attachments

According to an official statement, Contact Attachments, the specialist fork lift truck attachment manufacturer, has just received a third Citroen Relay 35 HDi 160 Ready to Run Ingimex dropside truck. It will join three other identical vehicles in the Newtown, Powys-based company’s UK-wide service that consists of an intensive, high mileage delivery operation, which could soon be expanded to include Europe.

It’s arduous service life will last up to four years, during which Contact Attachments will drive it over about 200,000 miles. Just like its two fleet mates, the Relay 35 HDi 160 Ready to Run was bought from Citroen dealer Budgen Motors, Telford. It will be maintained in-house by Contact Attachments, using genuine Citroen parts and approved lubricants, and servicing its vehicles overnight.

“We are very impressed with the Citroen Relay.  Our experience has shown that they are cheap to insure, easy to maintain and remain trouble free with excess of 200,000 miles on the clock. Despite high speed, full load operation they are also very economical, returning up to 29mpg, which is near enough a 100% fuel economy improvement over our previous vehicles,” explains Graham Wright, the company’s accountant.

The British company is a long established manufacturer of specialist fork lift truck equipment with a decent showing on growing export markets in Europe, China and the United States.  To improve fork lift truck safety and boost load handling efficiency the company makes snow ploughs, tipping skips, forks, load back rests, drum clamp bands, pallet rotators and wheelie bin handlers. These are supplied and delivered to customers in the UK, while the company is now considering using its new Relay with a drawbar trailer for deliveries to its European customers.
