New Chrysler / Lancia Voyager Coming in 2014

The fifth generation of the Chrysler Voyager, which is badged as a Lancia when sold in Europe, will be reaching the end of its life cycle in 2014, yet Chrysler officials have yet to determine what they will replace it with. According to autoedizione.com, the Fiat/Chrysler Group CEO, Sergio Marchionne likes the idea of a very similar design to the current car’s, keeping the high roofline and sliding rear door.

Other high-level officials would like it to metamorpohosize into a crossover, which would only have one single connection to the old car - the name. However, since the model’s debut is just under two years away, they still have some time to decide what the car will end up being.

The Voyager has been quite successful in the US, and surprisingly, in Europe, as well, yet the market focus has now shifted from ‘friendly and safe’ MPVs, to ‘adventurous and fun’ crossovers, which can still carry your family, some bags and a dog, yet they are ‘fun’ and ‘adventurous’, and thus more appealing to buyers.
