New CEO Takes the Helm of The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers

The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers a trade group of 12 vehicle manufacturers including BMW Group, Chrysler Group LLC, Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz USA, Mitsubishi Motors, Porsche, Toyota, Volkswagen Group of America and Volvo Cars North America. The trade group is the leading advocacy group for the auto industry.

The Alliance has named Mitch Bainwol its new president and CEO. Bainwol has been CEO of Recording Industry Association of America since 2003, which represents the top four largest music-recording companies.

"The pace of change in technology and the marketplace is relentless today, and automakers recognize that Mitch Bainwol has a proven record of finding successful approaches to meet changing industry needs.He not only knows how Capitol Hill works, but he also understands business models and the demands of the marketplace.”
Jake Jones, Vice President of External Affairs and Public Policy at Daimler was quoted as saying by the Detroit Free Press. Bainwol explained it was a “great privilege to join the auto industry at such a dynamic time in its rich history.”

Mitch Bainwol added:“From fuel efficiency to safety, the industry's innovation is nothing short of remarkable. Americans love cars and just as importantly, understand that the economic destiny of our country is linked to the success of this sector.” as reported by the aforementioned source.

Bainwol has been named a “Top D.C. Lobbyist” by the Washington Post and was included as on e of the 50 most influential “politicos” in Washington by Roll Call.
