New Casual Wear Classic Cars Collection by Etiqueta Negra

Argentina based design house Etiqueta Negra, renown for its sporty approach to the masculine clothing style, has recently announced the creation of a new men’s collection that draws inspiration from classic cars. The company has so far been made famous by its several collections in the equestrian and sporting style, luxist.com reports.

The company's newly launched Classic Cars Collection includes casual wear items such as sweaters, t-shirts, jeans, down vests and leather jackets. The highlight of the collection is a leather motorcycle jacket, which is also one of the most expensive items, priced at $1,200.

The products are characterized by clean lines and neutral colors, such as black, white and dark gray, while also sporting a touch of yellow in the detailing that evoke traditional motorsport livery. Etiqueta Negra used materials such as Pima cotton, fine denim, cashmere or merino.

"I've had a passion for automobiles since I was a child and am an avid car collector," the label's founder, Federico Alvarez Castillo, was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source. "This appreciation for beautiful cars has played a central role in the design and aesthetic of Etiqueta Negra as a brand from its inception. It was only appropriate to integrate the vehicles into the design of the clothes."

The company has various stores opened across North and South America, each location being decorated with a rare classic car or motorcycle from Castillo’s own private collection. The store opened in New York, for example, has a 1938 Alfa Romeo 158 on display.

Etiqueta Negra, which means Black Label, has also been selected to dress the Argentine national soccer team for the World Cup, with soccer legend Diego Maradona declaring himself a fan of the brand.
