New Cars from Fiat-Chrysler: Chrysler 100 Sedan, Mystery Alfa Romeo, Hybrid Minivan Confirmed

During the most recent Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles NV investor meeting, the Italo-American company offered a glimpse at its key product launches from the fourth quarter of 2014 to 2016. Without further ado, you’re in for quite a wild ride from all brands currently owned by the Fiat-Chrysler consortium.

As you can see in the slide attached above, FCA confirmed the long-rumoured Maserati SUV will be dubbed the Levante. According to the Italian brand, the luxury SUV will be available with a 350 and a 425 horsepower twin-turbo V6 powerplant, as well as a 560-plus horsepower forced-fed V8. Furthermore, the all-wheel drive Maserati Levante will also be offered with a choice of three diesels, with outputs ranging from 250 to 275 and 340 horsepower.

The House of the Trident will also come out with the heavily-awaited Maserati Alfieri coupe at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, with a rag top model slated to follow soon after that. As it happens, a 410 horsepower twin-turbo V6 will animate the rear-wheel drive Alfieri. All-wheel drive models are going to receive 450 and 520 horsepower variants of the previously mentioned six-cylinder engine.

Moving on to the struggling Alfa Romeo brand, it is no longer a mystery the Tipo 952 sedan (which will replace the 159) is confirmed to debut on the 24th of June. It’s not known if the Giulia moniker received the green light, but we do know it’s RWD and will be propelled by a selection of turbo four-cylinder and V6 motors. There’s a second new car slated for launch at the beginning of 2016, but not much is known about it at the moment. To boot, a whopping six all-new models will follow by 2018.

Jeep is on a bit of a roll as well. The so-called “C-SUV” will slot between the 2015 Jeep Renegade and Cherokee in 2016, when the Compass and Patriot will stop production. In addition to this, the American marque will also revive the seven-seater Grand Wagoneer nameplate in 2018, a model that will be underpinned by the next generation Grand Cherokee. The latter will debut sometime in 2017, together with the all-new generation Wrangler.

As for Ram Trucks and Commercial, the company already launched the Fiat Doblo-based ProMaster City and the Ram 1500 Rebel, but there’s more to look forward to. This year will see the introduction of a minor update of the light-duty pickup truck (2016 Ram 1500), while 2016 will bring a similarly minor update for the heavy-duty and chassis cab (2017 Ram 2500, 3500 and Chassis Cab trucks). We’ll have to wait until 2017 to see a considerable revamp of the light-duty (2018 Ram 1500) and ’til 2018 for the heavy-duty (2018 Ram 2500, 3500).

Fiat will invest some money into three next-gen compact models (Bravo, Linea, Stilo MultiWagon), all of them expected to hit showrooms in 2016. A renewal of the Fiat 500 and an all-new Fiat Punto and Fiorino van are also in the cards. Across the big pond at Chrysler, the marque will drop the all-new 2017 Chrysler Town & Country minivan at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, followed by a luxury compact sedan which is referred to as the Chrysler 100.

Finally, Dodge has something to amaze us after it took the world by storm with the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat and the Charger SRT Hellcat. First of all, a mid-cycle refresh for the Dart will arrive in June 2016. Known details include an all-wheel drive SRT variant that will receive a nine-speed ZF automatic mated to a turbo four-pot powerplant. The Dodge Journey is going to be replaced in July 2016 by an all-new seven-seater family hauler dubbed the D-CUV.
