Becky Schoenig from Missouri proved staying positive helps when she decided to post a picture of herself smiling next to the recently retrieved 2015 Ford Fusion some punks had stolen from her two months after she bought it. Instead of feeling miserable for getting her car stolen and wrongly customized, she decided to smile and pose next to it. The picture she posted on Facebook soon went viral.
Stay positive and try always to look at the bright side of things is what people tell you whenever there’s a bad thing happening. It worked for this Ford Fusion owner who recently got her new car back a little more colorful than it was when they stole it from her.

The incident happened on Monday, as the thieves took the vehicle out of her driveway in St. Charles County, Missouri. Luckily, the hybrid was seen by a kind man who thought there’s something suspicious about the driver, so he called the police. “The cops showed up, and the kids were all arrested, and the car was retrieved,” the man said, according to ABC News.

Believe it or not, the car was sent back to its proper owner right on Wednesday, which also was April Fools’ Day. “[The thieves] had spray-painted the rims, put details on the whole car. They were planning on tinting the windows,” the woman said.

It might have turned her mood upside down initially, but with a little encouragement from her friends Schoenig realised sometimes smiling helps more. So before taking all the unwanted “endorsements” off the Ford Fusion she took a picture next to the car. She then posted it and thanked the thieves for the job.

How about that for a totally unexpected detour in the course of a truly bad experience, right?
