It took numerous spy shots and an even greater amount of rumours to finally get the 2016 ATS-V Coupe undressed of its secrets. Finally, the half luxurious and half performance-oriented Caddy leaked on the Internet in all its brutal glory. BMW M4 owners won’t really like what they’ll hear next.
Twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 powerplant, 450 fire-breathing ponies, 445 lb-ft (603 Nm) rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual. That’s slightly better than the US-spec BMW M4 manual, with is 425 HP and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This is not your typical luxobarge from Cadillac, alright. But if there are people out there that don’t want to do cog-swapping duties manually, there’s an eight-speed auto too.
One big mention though - the automaker is not ready to mention whether it’s an Aisin flappy paddle gearbox or the Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed currently mated only to General Motors’ 6.2-liter small-block V8. Styling-wise, the new 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Coupe is something really hard to put your finger on, but it works. Maybe the ominous edgy styling or the go-faster paraphernalia are to blame for that.
We are extremely curious about the power-to-weight ratio. If the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Coupe will weigh less than 3,600 pounds (1.632 kg), that would be great. What else is really worth noting? How about titanium connecting rods and a couple of water-to-air intercoolers? If that’s not nearly enough to get your blood flowing then maybe the titanium turbo turbines and the dedicated gearbox radiator will.
Nuclear grade stuff. Except for the supercharged V8-powered CTS-V brute, when was the last time you saw Cadillac equipping a car with super sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber, an electronic locking differential and a suspension tuned for a lot more roll stiffness than a Vsport variant?

Specs like acceleration times and other important details for us petrolheads are still a mystery
Due to the fact this is a leak, we will have to wait a bit longer to find out more, but still, next week’s LA Auto Show is very near, so here’s hope we won’t wait too long before another pre-auto show leak. What else can we say about this all-new ATS-V? Well, the blacked-out mesh grille and carbon fiber heat extractors in the bulged bonnet make a great team with the bronze-painted calipers and gunmetal alloys. We are extremely curious about the power-to-weight ratio.
