New C 63 AMG W205 to "Slaughter" the BMW M3's Power Figures

Never in the last ten years or so has a BMW of the M3 variety been more powerful from the factory than an equivalent AMG model, with Affalterbach engineers being known for pumping more hp and torque in their hand-made engines than all their competitors.

The recently-launched BMW M3 F82, for example, doesn't even manage to outgun the now old C 63 AMG W204 in this department.

Even more bad news from this point of view are coming for the Bavarians though, as the upcoming C 63 AMG W205 is set to sport a twin-turbocharged V8 that, according to an ex-AMG executive quoted by Road and Track, will absolutely trounce the 431 hp (425 bhp) and 550 Nm (406 lb ft) of torque from the BMW M3/M4 twin-turbocharged inline six.

“Sure, they only have to beat the M3’s 425 hp. But if they can slaughter that, why not?” said the unnamed executive at the North American International Auto Show when asked about the new M177 engine in the upcoming C 63 AMG W205.

Some of us are actually expecting not much less than 500 hp in the new model...
