New BMW R1200GS Showcase Presentation

Here's a nifty treat for all those waiting for the new BMW R1200GS: a presentation video highlighting some of the key elements of the new generation.
It's all down to the liquid cooling and the new riding modes, of course. If you thought that the 2013 R1200GS was all about liquid-cooling, you were wrong: the video explains how the engineers used the new cooling solution only for some of the most temperature-stressed areas, leaving the cooling fins to do their job just like they did until now.

While we tend to trust BMW's testing, we cannot help a dash of skepticism preventing us from hailing the new GS until the real-life, harsh and unforgiving testing is done by the riders themselves in the wild. We expect good results, anyway, but for the sake of objectivity we can't say a bike is great before it returns in one piece from the "long trip".

As for the easier cycling through the riding modes and traction control, a simpler, more rider-friendly operation is truly great, and we're happy BMW has finally understood that “complex” must not necessarily be “complicated”.
