New BMW M4 M Performance Parts Introduced at SEMA 2015, Including CFRP Wing

The BMW M4 has been around the block for quite some time now, and since its reveal back in 2014 the car also received a full M Performance Parts catalogue for those who want a bit more on the side. Well, at this year’s SEMA show, the Germans brought a new set on the stage, along with a big wing for the trunk.

If you think that the wing of the M4 GTS is the only thing that truly sets it apart from the standard model in terms of design, then this is the best news in town for you. Yes, the M Performance Parts catalogue now includes such an add-on and you can have it.

However, BMW doesn’t call it what it is (a wing), but instead chose to use the term “through-flow rear spoiler.” We don’t really care what they call it, since it looks this good, especially with those M stripes all over it. As you can notice, the M Performance writing is different as well, a touch we’re not sure we agree with since the new font looks like something taken out of the Need for Speed games.

Up front, you’ll notice new CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) inserts for the front spoiler, as well as new high-gloss black grilles. On the sides, the M Performance parts are represented by the side sill attachments made of polyurethane, as well as the new exterior mirror caps in carbon fiber finish. Of course, if you want them, the M stripes are also on the table.

Going back to the rear of the M4, apart from the through-flow rear spoiler, you’ll also notice a new carbon fiber diffuser with three bars shaped in the middle, all of this being hand-made.

If you’re looking for a better sound, the M Performance exhaust should take care of that problem. Made of stainless steel with a rear silencer made of titanium, the aftermarket add-on comes with two settings for the best experience in every setting.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a new steering wheel, part of the M Performance Parts catalogue with a rim in Alcantara Anthracite and a trim element in clear-finish carbon fiber. At the 12-o’clock position, the steering wheel has a blue marking instead of a red one as we’ve been getting used to.

Of course, the same carbon fiber trims are available almost everywhere. From the gear lever to the center console trim and going up to the door handles and even the handbrake.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until January 2016 to be able to order all these goodies and even then only some will be available, the rest following in June 2016.
