As our own spyshots prove, BMW is currently testing brand new entry-level luxury two-door models, in both coupe (F22) and convertible (F23) forms. But while we know the new 2 Series BMWs are coming soon, the wait is killing us Bimmer fans.
The 2 Series will replace the 1 Series coupe and the 1 Series Convertible, in the same way the 4 Series will replace the 3 Series Convertible and Coupe.

According to BMWblog.com, the Munich based company will start the production of the new 2 Series this November. This indicates that the new 2 Series models will be unveiled in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The first batch of information says that the M235i will start production in the Leipzig factory around the last 2 months of this year.

Furthermore, some new info about the 2 Series came to light. It seems that it will be heavier than the M135i but it will retain the same N55 engine with 320 HP and 450 Nm of torque. Also, the spy shots confirmed that it will be equipped with the 8 speed transmission.
