New Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Unveiled, It's the Most Powerful and Luxurious Ever

Deep-pocketed enthusiasts know what they want for Christmas this year, and that is the new Bentley Continental GT Mulliner. Deemed as being “the fastest, most dynamic, and most luxurious member of the Continental range,” it will celebrate its public premiere at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week.

Powering it is an upgraded version of the twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, which produces 24 ps (24 hp / 17 kW) more than the standard mill. The result is 659 ps (650 hp / 485 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque, which enables a 0 to 100 kph (0-62 mph) in 3.6 seconds, 0.1 second quicker, and a top speed of 335 kph (208 mph).

On the outside, the new Continental GT Mulliner stands out from the rest of the family by featuring the ‘Double Diamond’ matrix grille, with a signature styling, complemented by the matching front fender vents in the same silver and black design, with Mulliner branding. These are available in bright chrome, or glossy black, and the side mirror caps, which project the ‘Mulliner’ logo onto the asphalt when the doors are opened, can be had in satin silver or black.

A combination primary and secondary hides, joined by a third color, bedecks the cabin of the luxury model. Here, customers can choose between a wide range of shades and materials, including all kinds of veneers and stitching. And speaking of the latter, it takes almost 400,000 stitches to come up with the quilting inside, as each diamond contains 712 individual stitches. Bentley worked on the embroidery process for 18 months. The Mulliner logos are embroidered in the seats, micro-piping can be seen on the floor mats, and the Breitling clock sits in the middle of the center console.

Elsewhere, Bentley’s brand-new Continental GT Mulliner features electronic all-wheel steering, electronic limited-slip differential, and adaptive damping, as well as available carbon ceramic brakes, and several other gizmos, because this is, after all, a model that wants to set new benchmarks in the GT class.
