However, with only a few hours remaining to the deadline, the page with the Benetton B194 suddenly disappeared from the website.
On Sunday night, a few hours before the page disappeared, the bidding had reached approximately 2.6 million euros.
As for the new car, placed on the UK version of eBay by a certain Ben Schroeder, this B194 is claimed to be the actual car that Schumacher used to win his first title back in 1994. The announcement also states that Chassis B194-05 was intensively renovated through the last 18 months and that this is the car that Schu used to score more than half the points he ended his 1994 campaign with.
“Over the last 18 months, more than 750 hours of professional engineering have been spent in order to renovate the B194-05 to perfection and have it in race ready condition by Team ASCARI, Langford Performance Engineering and Fred Goddard Racing LTD. It has been maintained and renovated to its original state as it was in 1994, while upgrading electronics and paddle shifting system and replacing parts, which had become unsafe with age, all suspension and wings crack tested and certified,” says the announcement.
“The winning buyer will receive 1 free day of exclusive usage of the ASCARI Race Track Resort in Ronda, Spain!” added the eBay announcement.
With 2 days remaining from the bidding process, the highest offer for the car is 1.8 million pounds sterling.
