Audi really likes to keep us on our tows with its teaser videos, the latest being released minutes ago. It announces the arrival of a brand new model, one which is hotly anticipated. There's no bluntly offered and obvious information here, just a series of little clues that only hardcore car fans can interpret.
We took a vote on what the teaser is about and it seems Audi has us confused. Our resident Mercedes-Benz expert, who's a German car fan in general, suggests this is the RS3, but I think we're looking at the S1 quattro.

I'm not going to hide the fact that this is a car I'm excited about. While calling it the "S1" is a bit of a sacrilege, that doesn't matter when Audi is giving us 230 PS from a 2-liter TFSI and standard quattro all-wheel drive. It's going to be a rocket.

So let's talk about the clues in the video and why I think the S1 quattro will be the car unveiled on February 12th. Firstly, the headlights appear to be covered by the bonnet, and the A1 is one of the few models Audi makes with a wide bonnet like that. It's true that the headlights don't look like the current A1, but that's because a facelift is coming. The yellow bit you see in the third image in the gallery below is a seat back and it says "quattro" on it. here's also a small armrest with a hinge at the back, again something the A1 comes with. Image #4 tells us this is an S model with a silver mirror and a 3-door hatchback body.

Place your bets, because February 12th is quickly approaching!
