New Aston Martin Vanquishes Jay Leno's Garage

A week ago, Top Gear took this very Aston Martin Vanquish, a Lexus LFA and the new Viper on a trip to Vegas. But filming for the show was done last week, so there was plenty of time this year for Jay Leno to get to enjoy the new British supercar-GT.
The Vanquish is a car that's all about finesse. It’s a bit wider and also much lighter thanks to the use of carbon fiber than its predecessor. Powering the Vanquish is a revised version of the 6-liter V12 found in the DBS, which has gotten an extra 55 hp for a total of 565hp (573PS) and a peak torque of 620Nm (457 lb-ft).

It will accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 295km/h (183mph).

But as with any big-budget car, like a Bentley or a Lamborghini, the base model tells only half the story. Owning the new Vanquish is probably more about the individuality brought about by the carbon fiber finish Aston has developed, or the endless paint options. It takes the equivalent of seven week in man-hours to build this car.

Even though Aston is putting its best foot forward, we can't shake the feeling that the interior isn't as special as a Bentley GT. But the dynamics are all there to compensate for the fidgety buttons, and that soundtrack, oh that glorious soundtrack!
