New Android Auto Music Glitch in Town and This Time It’s Really Frustrating

According to the official figures, Spotify is currently available in no less than 170 markets, and it has 155 million subscribers and no less than 345 million monthly active users.

The service provides over 70 million tracks and 2.2 million podcasts, with the number of available playlists exceeding 4 billion.

All these numbers show that Spotify is one of the leading, if not the number one, music services out there, and needless to say, many of us also use it in the car. With support for both Android Auto and CarPlay, Spotify has become an essential app for many drivers, who can thus take their favorite tunes with them wherever they go.

But as far as the Android Auto experience is concerned, that is one crazy rollercoaster ride, as Spotify sometimes hits various issues for absolutely no clear reason.

It is what’s happening right now for several users, as the app can no longer play the favorite tracks on Android Auto. I first encountered this problem on Android Auto 6.0 earlier this year, but the problem is still there after installing version 6.1, and several users on Google’s forums confirm this is the case in their cars too.

The whole thing comes down to a very simple glitch: the list of liked songs can no longer be accessed, and Spotify appears to be struggling indefinitely to load it.

If I try to play the ‘Liked Songs’ playlist then it will just load forever and never play. The only workaround that I've found is that you can start the playlist before plugging your phone in, and then it will continue to play once plugged in. It is super inconvenient as there is no other way to play just downloaded songs,” one user explains.

At the time of writing, neither Google nor Spotify commented on this glitch, so we still don’t know if a fix is coming or not.
