We told you about a local initiative in London, UK about setting a new record for all-female motorcycle rallies only weeks ago. The event took place and amassed no less than 618 ladies, vastly surpassing the previous record.
The former record was set in Australia last year, when 221 women on 190 motorcycles met in the same place. However, the English event also set a new bar for the biggest all-female bike parade, as 251 riders on 251 motorcycles rode from the Ace Cafe.

Given the huge success of the event, organizers Sherrie Wolf and Nimisha Patel are already considering staging similar meetings in other places in the UK, with the same purpose of drawing attention from the gear manufacturers.

There is more to the purpose of the meeting than setting new records

Woolf and Patel are up to more "mischief" than simply setting records for the largest all-female meetings or bike parade. The ultimate goal of the event is raising awareness among motorcycle gear manufacturers, as both organizers have had a hard time finding proper gear on multiple occasions.

Even though the motorcycling world is dominated by male riders and racers, the increasing presence of females cannot be ignored. Still, the balance between female-specific gear and that engineered with the male anatomy in mind is way off. In fact, only a handful of manufacturers have female ranges, yet they are vastly outnumbered by the rest.

These all-female meetings hope to convince more manufacturers to acknowledge the changing situation and come forth with a wider palette of offers for the increasing demand.

Traditionally, the association between women and motorcycles saw the former as passengers, and somehow their protection was seen as a lesser concern. In the last decade the number of women who take to motorcycling and ride their own bikes has increased dramatically, and this situation triggers a higher demand of riding gear for all sports and fashions.

Finally, as one of the most interesting details about the World's Largest All Female Biker Meet at the Ace Cafe London, the youngest rider present was only 10 years old, whereas the oldest was no less than 73. That's most likely one of the best details to tell you how many women feel like riding a motorcycle these days.
