New AGV AX-8 and AX-8 Dual Off-Road Helmets Introduced

Following the release of its thermoplastic resin MT-X helmet earlier this year, AGV has now expanded its off-road products family with 2 new helmets: the AX-8 and AX-8 Dual. While the first is available in solid colors ($349.95), graphics colors ($379.95) and special graphics ($399.95), the latter only comes in solid colors ($399.95).

Taken separately, the design of the AX-8 helmet is inspired from AGV’s road racing helmets and the MT-X. With its carbon-Kevlar-fiber shell, it brings the IVS (integrated ventilation system) to dirt racing, which consists of channels formed directly in the outer shell and within the double-layers EPS.

The result is air constantly flowing through the 7 front and lateral air-intakes while the rear extractors eliminate the moist warm air from inside the helmet. The helmet weighs at an average of 1.350 g and is certified DOT/ECE2205 for the US market. The AX-8 comes in 3 shell sizes which, combine with various inner liner combination of cheek-pads and crown-pads allow for a size run ranging XXS to XXXL.

On the other hand, the new AGV AX-8 Dual helmet, based on the AX-8 shell is designed for the adventure touring segment, with an on-road and-off road use. Added features include the shield and its specific fully opening mechanism, the opening chin vents as well as an additional opening air-intake on the top of the helmet.

The integrated IVS ventilation system receives the addition of an air-intake on top of the helmet with an open/close position as well as a chin guard vent with an open/closed mechanism for adjustment of the airflow inside the helmet.

The helmet also comes with a new AGV Flat Dual shield in non-scratch, anti-fog, polycarbonate and has a specific mechanism that offers gradual shield opening. The AX-8 Dual visor has been designed to reduce the sail-effect during travel to a minimum.

The AX-8 Dual helmet can be configured in 3 different set-ups:
1. Supermotard/Adventure Touring - with visor and shield.
2. Off-Road - with visor and no shield.
3. Street/Naked Bikes - with shield and no visor.
