Now that Porsche has set the new 911 Turbo and Turbo S free into the world, it’s time to think about what comes next for the rear-engined coupe. Just like in the case of previous generations, Porsche will strip the Turbo it of its all-wheel drive in order to create the new GT2.
In fact, Porsche is expected to start off with the 911 Turbo S, which means that the 991 Porsche 911 GT2 will be motivated by a 3.8-liter flat six delivering 560 hp, with the unit being mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission.
While the new GT2 will do away with the all-wheel drive, relying on its rear axle alone to put the power down, it will borrows the 911 Turbo;s new four-wheel steering system. The 0 to 62 mph time is expected to sit at 3 seconds flat, while the top speed should exceed 200 mph (320 km/h).
While the new Porsche 911 GT2 will arrive at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche will also launch an even spicier GT2 RS in 2015.
