However, Car & Driver now tells us that the next RAV4 will draw inspiration for the new Camry, but it will be underpinned by a platform based on the current one, albeit with multiple modifications.

As for the engine range, the aforementioned source states that the powerplants will be carried over from the current model, but we expect Toyota to follow the downsizing trend of the industry, so we might also see units that will be new to the RAV4.
