According to PickupTruck.com, who've been in touch with Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for the two vehicles, General Motors is considering eight-speed transmissions, twin-turbo V6 engines and light-duty diesels as possible answers to customer's power and fuel economy related concerns.
In addition, both the 2014 Silverado and Sierra will have a maximum towing capacity of 11,500 pounds, but only if the trucks are equipped with max-trailering package. Furthermore, the Silverado Z71 option package will get more than just the usual body stickers.
Just a quick reminder: the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado starts from $24,585, while the 2014 GMC Sierra can be ordered with a base price of $25,085. Both versions are regular cabs.
