NEVS Say Saab 9-3 Convertible EV Will Be Here in 18 Months

News from Sweden, regarding the Saab saga has been scarce in recent weeks, and while we may have gotten used to the idea that they no longer exist as they once did, our hopes are still up that they will start making cars again, and the fact that the new owner, NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden), have announced that they will bring back the brand as an EV manufacturer.

Now, they have announced that they would like to bring the convertible 9-3 back to the market, within the next 18 months, as an EV. They currently have no electric powertrains at their disposal, so they will have to search for a suitable partner which can provide them with the proper motor for the job.

The company is also not excluding the possibility of having a conventionally-powered version on the market, as well, but we say they should stick to what they set out to do, and that is to create a new identity for Saab, as an EV manufacturer, while keeping all the qualities that made Saabs so popular and appreciated all around the world.
