Never Forget Camaro Is a Transformer

The battle between the two American muscle incons (or ponies, depending on which side of the fence you're standing), the Camaro and the Mustang, has raged on for decades, but now it seems to be bitter than ever, with the sales charts twisting up, down and sideways in favour of one or the other.

For the past four years or so, the Camaro got however an unprecedented edge over the Mustang and the two have separated into two distinct classes. On one hand, the Camaro is trying to plant the seeds for a bright future using the movie industry, while on the other, the Mustang has turned almost its entire attention towards racing.

With the help of some Hollywood producers, the Camaro managed to snatch in 2007 a huge role in a movie that would eventually turn trilogy and an immense blockbuster: Transformers. Playing Bumblebee, a somewhat mute, oversized but rather friendly yellow robot, the Camaro managed to enter the public conscience and appeal both to the kids inside all men and to the kids that aren't yet men (but will soon be, and chances are they'll go for a Camaro).

These days, the world is bracing for the third installment of the Transformers franchise, one that is said to literally make your eyes bleed, in 3D. Movie hits the theaters near you on June 29 in the US. Until then, Chevy plans to allow no one to forget the Camaro is a Transformer, so it released a new ad that brings into light all of the car's extraterrestrial, robotic ancestry.
