Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed Comes in March

A new year, a new style of racing coming from EA and Slightly Mad Studios, this time packed neatly in the new game called Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed. Set to be launched in Europe on March 24 and 25, and in North America on March 29, the game promises, at least at first glance, to put to rest all those voices who have criticized the previous installment, Hot Pursuit, for being (hold on) too complicated to play.

Shift 2 comes to complete the NFS franchise as a brand new version of its previous self. Running on a new graphics engine, it brings racing closer to the player through the helmet camera system, night racing or in-cockpit view.

“Frighteningly authentic physics and degradation of tracks and cars, thrilling night racing, and an eye-watering sense of speed combined with the all-new helmet camera puts you right in the heart in the action,” promises the developer. “Feel every scrape, bump, and burn out in an all-out fight to the finish line”

Before the game is launched, EA decided to give it a little push, and released today a trailer of the limited edition version, complete with three exclusive cars: Nissan Silvia spec.R Aero, Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV and Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

According to Softpedia, in addition to the exciting models, EA is also offering for all those who pre-order the game's limited edition a thrilling package which comprises 40 unique career events, ranging from Single-Type to Old versus New challenges and Manufacturer Showdown.
