Are you tired of racing your hundred of thousands of dollars worth of virtual cars through simulated tracks and circuits, with no cops in sight? Those of you who believed all the Need for Speed excitement died out with NFS Shift, need not worry: cops are back in the NFS franchise and, what's even better, you can play as one.
EA and Criterion unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles (E3) the revival of the Hot Pursuit title and, at the same time, the return of the good old cops and racers high-speed, high adrenaline chases.
Set to release in November 2010, the game will introduce a whole new feature for online play, called Need for Speed Autolog. Through Autolog players can compare racing stats and automatically get personalized gameplay recommendations.
“At Criterion, we’ve been playing Need for Speed since it was first introduced on 3DO. We are honored and excited by the opportunity to reinvent the franchise for today’s connected audience. Our goal has been to create cops vs. racers pursuits that are so fun, fast and exciting it really brings to life the adrenaline and intensity of the high speed cop pursuit experience with your friends,” Craig Sullivan, the game's creative director said at E3.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will launch in North America on November 16 and in Europe on November 18. The game will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii.
Below you can find the trailer presented by EA at E3, as well as a demo of how the game is played both as a cop and as a racer.
