Navmii Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Available on iPod Touch

In what is a premiere for the iPod fans, GPS solution provider Navmii Software, together with GeoLife and PosiMotion, announced yesterday the availability of Navmii's turn-by-turn navigation for the iPod touch.

"At last more than 20 million iPod touch users, and many first generation iPhone owners can access simple, accurate, turn-by-turn navigation on their favourite device," Peter Atalla, Namii CEO said in a release.

"Combining Geolife's Navmii with the PosiMotion's G-Fi brings secure personal navigation to a whole new audience. Why buy an in-car solution SatNav when you can simply add the functionality to your iPod touch or iPhone at a fraction of the cost?"

Navmii will make the software available for download for 29.99 pounds from Apple iTunes. Combining this solution with G-Fi hardware, the iPod can be used for satellite navigation with smart routing, interactive maps and spoken directions.

"Navmii powered by G-Fi creates the first real navigation solution that many iPod touch owners desire. We are very proud to be working with GeoLife, one of the most reputable navigation companies in the world, to bring the first turn-by-turn navigation to the iPod touch," Olivier Hennessy, PosiMotion CEO added.

According to the provider, the software is compatible with iPod Touch and the first generation iPhone when used with PosiMotion G-Fi mobile network/GPS router.
