You may have noticed that most cars on the road are silver, followed by various shades of grey, white and black. However, there was a time when this wasn’t the case (the 1960s and 1970s), when ‘earthy’ and ‘natural’ colors were in vogue.
Well, if you are bored with silver, which is statistically the world’s most popular color, according to BASF Automotive Coatings, so it’s not in our heads, you can rejoice as it seems that the next five years will bring along new and changing tastes in colors, with people preferring browns, greens and blues, as well as “berry”, copper and even different shades of gold.

To us, this is really good news as we are honestly fed up with all the silver, white and black cars we see on the road - the same cars would look so much better if the color palette was diversified. We have started seeing this trend on cars released in recent months, like the Mini Countryman (most of the ones we’ve seen are a lovely dark brown) or VW’s all-new Beetle which lets its prospective buyers choose from a very wide array of rather nice and funky colors.
