Natalie Portman Drives Her Lexus RX to Pilates

Academy Award winner Natalie Portman was recently seen driving a Lexus RX to a morning pilates class in Los Angeles, California. The “Thor: The Dark World” star is quite modest when it comes to the cars she drives around considering it’s the same SUV the actress is usually seen in.

Natalie Portman is definitely not the average celebrity. Among several awards, the two Golden Globe winner always put her education first, even though it could’ve affected her acting career. In 1999, she enrolled at Harvard University to study psychology while still working as an actress. She completed her bachelor’s degree in 2003. “I don’t care if college ruins my career. I’d rather be smart than a movie star,” she told the New York Post.

Moreover, Portman has professed an interest in foreign languages since childhood and has studied French, Japanese, German and Arabic. Considering the actress has dual American and Israeli citizenship, she also also speaks Hebrew.

In fact, the 33-year old movie star is known for her beliefs in the Jewish culture and always found Israel feels like home. In July 2013, Portman announced she had chosen an adaptation of Israeli author Amos OZ’s autobiographical novel “A Tale of Love and Darkness” as her directorial feature debut. Portman will also star in the film and was a co-writer on the script.

All this considered, it comes natural for this celebrity to care less for her belongings than for her work. However, the Lexus RX finished in white she was seen with is not that bad. After all, this luxury SUV is U.S.’ best-selling since it first became available here. The third generation model has won several awards, including AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Award for Luxury Crossover SUV, Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Award for Luxury Utility Vehicle, and Residual Value Award for Near Luxury SUV from Automative Lease Guide.

This car is also as safe as they can get nowadays. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash test results have given the RX 350 model the maximum five star rating in the Frontal Driver, Frontal Passenger, Side Driver, and Side Rear Passenger categories, and four of five stars in the Rollover category.

Considering a brand new 2014 Lexus RX 350, their latest model, would cost you about $40,000, it seems Natalie Portman is not only modest, but also a practical Hollywood star.
