When talking about the Toyota Camry, America’s best-selling mid-size sedan, most automotive gearheads describe it as a rather dull-looking car, with performance figures that are all but amazing. However, one Camry model that will go under the hammer via RKMCCA later this month will blow you away.
We’re talking about the Camry Coupe that was built by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and RK Motors Design for the 2010 SEMA Show. Painted in an attractive two tone white over red color scheme, this Japanese sleeper is powered by a NASCAR-sourced 358 CID V8 engine that delivers 680 horsepower.
Connected to a Tremec T-56 Magnum six-speed manual and a Ram dual-disc street clutch, the plant likely enables the vehicle to outgun loads of performance German cars from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, which gives it a high degree of cool. Other upgrades include custom MacPherson struts, Venza multi-link independent rear suspension, bespoke three-inch exhaust with X-pipe, 4-point roll cage, and leather-covered seats and door panels.
This Camry will auctioned off at no reserve between October 31 and November 3. Anticipated sell price is available only upon request, but we’ll be back as soon as RKMCCA finds it a new owner.
