NASCAR Pit Stop Footage Shows Flaming Brake Rotor

Being part of a NASCAR pit crew requires a lot speed, but skills are mandatory as well, especially when you have to deal with a lot of hot stuff.

And when we say hot, we mean flaming hot. No, it's not necessary for a car to catch fire to see some flames, pit crews have to deal with it each time they're changing tires.

The clip posted below shows the brake rotors on David Gilliland's No. 38 2012 season car literally bursting in flames while the mechanic is swapping the front wheels, and we can't help wondering if the gloves are any good in keeping those fingers burn-free.

Otherwise, the whole procedure is quite amazing and the pit crew only needs a little more than 15 seconds to provide a four-tire change. Be sure to watch the slow-motion replay at the end.
