Naked BMW S 1000 RR by Evoluzione Cyclesports

As motorcycle manufacturer BMW has already shattered all the rumors of a naked S 1000 RR superbike, some tuners decided to take the situation into their own hands and create what the German brand refuses to. This is how the naked S 1000 RR you see in the adjacent image was born.

Built by Ken Zeller of Evoluzione Cyclesports - a California-based US tuner that sells tuning parts for European firms like BMW, Ducati, KTM, Benelli, Bimota and Aprilia - this naked version comes with raised streetfighter handlebars and integrated mirrors, while keeping the asymmetrical headlight, but removing the rest of the “plastic”.

The original sportbike is powered by a 999 cc (61 cubic inch), DOHC, inline-four engine that revs to 14,000 rpm. Making 193 hp (starting 13,000 rpm) , the 2010 BMW S1000RR has the most powerful 1000cc production engine currently on the market.

Tipping the scales at just 183kg (403.3 lbs) dry 204kg (449.5 lbs) fully fueled it also has a very good power to weight ratio. The exhaust system is built as a 4-into-2-into-1 with an extending into large-volume pre-silencer and a short rear-end silencer.

Safety wise, the bike benefits from an ABS optional system developed for the race track and DTC Dynamic Traction Control.

Zeller’s version, however, isn’t the first approach of its kind. We’ve already seen the predator-like interpretation from Wunderlich, dubbed Piranha. The Germans have used a transformation kit that gives the bike extra performance wrapped up in a very menacing look. But if you don't want to ditch the supersport looks yet, you can always turn to Wunderlich for a Poisoned Arrow upgrade or to AC Schnitzer for the Avoid Silence transformation.
