One of the most exciting booths at the 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) will undoubtedly be Jeep's one, as the Chrysler brand will bring to the event no less than three new models.
The first to take the stand at the event is the Liberty Renegade, which will bring with it for 2010 "a new premium, rugged appearance with standard class-leading capability features". Powered by the 3.7l V6 engine which can be found on the entire Liberty line, the Renegade is capable to develop 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 319 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The feature which hits the customers first when looking at the Renegade is the Renegade-exclusive Salsa Red Pearl Coat exterior. The visual impact is enhanced by the painted Mineral Gray Keystone 16-inch wheels, fitted with all-terrain P235/70R16 outline white letter (OWL) 
tires, the dark neutral metallic wheel flares, lower side sills, front and rear fascia, body side moldings and rear license plate bar and black headlamp bezel.
Yet, being an off-roader, what counts the most is what lies underneath, the Renegade features a Selec-Trac II active four-wheel-drive system, which offers a fully electronic two-speed active transfer case and Brake-traction Control System (BTCS). The system is capable to instantly anticipate wheel slip and redirects torque accordingly.

The Renegade will hit the slippery slopes in the first quarter of 2010, with pricing yet to be announced.
