One of the more striking vehicles on display at the North American International Auto Show of 2013 is the Nissan Resonance concept, a crossover which previews the future styling direction for the company, when it comes to its future versions of the Murano, Juke and possibly the Qashqai.
With very bold creases, a coupe roofline and huge wheels, the Resonance certainly stands out, and if it`s a sign of things to come, then we fully welcome it. Nissan needs a style change, as the Murano, especially the facelifted one, looks awkward - too awkward to make it a truly appealing proposition.

Style is becoming increasingly important for buyers around the world, and since Nissan sells the Murano around the world, the car needs to be for all tastes and multi-talented if it is to stand a chance of winning. Thankfully, featuring an evolution of the styling of the current Juke crossover, the Resonance is just a well-proportioned and handsome crossover vehicle - Nissan need to keep the production version as similar to this as they can.

The Japanese manufacturer has already proved to itself that awkwardly-styled yet funky does sell, and well, with the Juke, so perhaps they should expand the formula to include some of their other, larger off-road offerings, like the Murano, X-Trail and even the Patrol and Pathfinder.

Furthermore, with the Resonance, Nissan is pushing forth their hybrid tech - the badge on the front doors is very clear to see. They will also want to be more competitive, when it comes to hybrids, in the US, as Toyota’s monopoly of the hybrid market is beginning to shake, as talented cars from Ford, Honda and Chevrolet are beginning to gain a following.
