MV Agusta Working on 675cc B3 Baby Brutale

While we didn’t have the time to get properly acquainted to the much awaited F3 middleweight sportsbike, Italian brand MV Agusta seems to have another ace up its sleeve to wow us this year. Scheduled to have its world public debut at this year’s EICMA show in Milan, a B3 ‘baby’ Brutale is currently in the making.

The current entry-level model in the range is the new Brutale 920, launched in late 2010 and joining its bigger siblings, the 990R and 1090RR. The naked version of the recently unveiled MV Agusta F3 three-cylinder supersport machine, the 675cc B3 is likely to go on sale in early 2012.

As an entry-level model in the Brutale range, it will also have the lowest price tag of them all. According to the MV Agusta Forum France, the baby Brutale could start from around EUR8,990 (about USD12,900 at the current exchange rate). The bike is claimed to have a 120 bhp version of the F3's 675cc triple, but with a flatter torque curve to suit the motorcycle's streetfighter attitude.

Prototypes of the new 'baby' MV Agusta Brutale are believed to be in the final stages of testing. Reports also hint to a high-spec 'Oro' version being offered, fitted with Ohlins suspension, and which could retail for around... EUR24,000.

The same French forum also reveals that ABS will be offered on the new MV Agusta B3 Brutale (and is also expected to be offered across the range by 2012).

If the rumors prove to be true, we will soon have a luxury middleweight naked machine battling the recently revealed 675cc Triumph Street Triple and the Ducati Monster. If so, details of the new B3 baby Brutale are expected to surface closer to the EICMA show this November, so stay tuned.
