Just as we knew it would happen pretty soon, here's the new MV Agusta F3 800, a three-cylinder sportsbike which will cause a lot of stir... among those who have recently bought the MV Agusta F3 675.
Why are the Varese guys back in the business of having their bikes cannibalizing each other... we could not tell, but the facts are real. The MV Agusta F3 800 comes just between the 675 and the F4, leaving the potential customers in a real dilemma: go for the supersport 675 or the liter-class F4... or even the 1090?
While this is strictly between MV Agusta and their customers, here are the tech details. The MV Agusta F3 800 seems like very funny bike, with a 798cc DOHC engine which is capable to deliver 146 HP and 88 Nm (65 lb-ft) of torque at 10,600 rpm, with a top speed of 269 km/h (167 mph).
MV Agusta F3 800 also sports an Electronically Assisted Shift (EAS) and Motor& Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS), drive-by-wire, 4 torque maps and 8-level Traction Control, and a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
The new bike weighs in at 173 kg (381 lbs, dry), and comes with monoblock Brembo radial calipers, , an USD Marzocchi fork and Sachs rear shock. The announced retail price is €13,990 ($18,275).
