After announcing a solid sales growth in 2013 and with even more promising perspectives for the current year, iconic Italian bike manufacturer MV Agusta announces a new exclusivist special-edition bike, the F3 800 AGO. And if you’re not a complete bike noob, then you should know we’re talking about THE Ago, 15-time world champion Giacomo Agostini.
The MV Agusta F3 800 AGO is a top-notch machine, just like Agostini was a to-drawer racer back in the day. Carrying on the acclaimed heritage of yesteryear, the new F3 800 AGO is not only built for speed, and sports a heap of customizable safety features.
Just like any modern MV Agusta, the F3 800 AGO comes with all the benefits of the MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) which puts the rider in complete control over the bike’s performance. A lot of parameters can be customized for tailoring the response of the bike according to each rider’s skills, limits and preferences, starting from power and ignition, to the rev limiter, torque deployment, throttle twist-opening ratio and more.
You get the usual disengageable 8-level traction control system and the sophisticated Bosch 9MP ABS with a Race mode and rear wheel lift management (RLM), a system which prevents the rear wheel to loft off the asphalt even under hard front braking. Dual 320mm front rotors are squeezed by 4-pot Brembo calipers, and are complemented by a 220mm rear disc.
Carefully designed and machined aluminium pegs and multiple other parts are joined by carbon fiber racing-grade parts, forged rims which are 2 kg (4.4 lbs) lighter than stock ones, and a sports-style plate holder.
Only 300 MV Agusta F3 800 AGO will be manufactured (just like the ultra-exclusive F4 Oro), and each of these come with a real Giacomo Agostini signature on the tank and a numbered silver plate mounted on the yoke, accompanied by a authenticity certificate, again signed by Ago. The MV Agusta F3 800 AGO will go on sale in early May 2014, with a price tag of €23,990 ($33,200).
