MV Agusta Announces Historic Return to Racing

MV Agusta makes a historic announcement today: the Varese manufacturer plans a historic comeback to the world of road racing, as President Giovanni Castiglioni inked a deal with the Russian Yakhnich Motorsport team.
It's been more than 37 years since the last time when MV Agusta recorded their last success in Gran Prix racing, but it looks like the Italian manufacturer is aiming for new glory.

Yakhnich Motorsport come with a modest experience in World Supersport, but they've just won the 2013 title, two years after the debut season. The team is also the organizer of the WSBK round in Russia, and this comes as major advantage on the technical side.

The Official “MV Agusta Reparto Corse - Yakhnich Motorsport” Team aims to compete as a key player in the 2014 World Supersport series with thee F3 machine, while continuing the development of the F4 RR motorcycle they plan to use in World Superbike starting with 2015.

According to the press release (below), "the MV Agusta Reparto Corse - Yakhnich Motorsport team will debut with two riders in the Supersport class and one rider in Superbike, whose names will be announced by the end of November."
