It looks like Italian motorcycle builder MV Agusta and automotive design firm Zagato are teasing something that might end up a crazy-cool sportbike if we’re to look at the picture the two companies just started to spread over the Internet.
The very picture you see attached here was sent by Zagato and MV Agusta to members of the media recently after which it also got published on the aforementioned brands’ social media pages along with a small hint: “Exploring new horizons... #comingsoon #mvagusta #zagato”. Honestly, this could mean anything, from signing a brand-image boosting partnership to experimenting with a new limited-edition bike model.

The photo also reads “4 September 2016” so we’ll have to wait until then to find out more about this interesting new project. That’s all we got along with the depiction of a smoothly-shaped sportbike concept front end, which could be anything.

However, this won’t be the first time MV Agusta gets to partner with an automotive company, as in 2014, the motorcycle manufacturer signed a deal with Mercedes-AMG, which took a 25% minority stake and invested into its marketing, along with displaying some of the bikes in select AMG dealerships across Europe.

This actually helped the bike builder increase its sales, delivering close to 9,000 units in 2015. The largest increase was registered in the UK, with 140% more MV Agusta bikes delivered compared to 2014. Spain follows with 54% and Germany with 26%.

2015 was marked by the introduction of the Turismo Veloce, a bike that has been an important factor in sustaining the increase of sales growth, with overall revenues having reached a 30% improvement. This year also saw the uprise of the new Brutale 800.

Fifteen years after its first appearance, the Brutale came back with a completely new style, also bringing more performance, efficiency and advanced technology. Priced at £10,499 (€12,400), the high-performance naked is powered by a 798 cc three-cylinder engine generating 116 hp and 83 Nm (61.2 lb-ft) of torque.
