MV Agusta fans will be thrilled to learn that the company's CEO Giovanni Castiglioni has officially mentioned returning to MotoGP as one of his main goals for the future.
Schiranna is one of the biggest names in Grand Prix racing, having won 38 rider titles and 37 manufacturers' ones, and if they can make it back to the premier class, we might see a level of engagement that's unprecedented in the last decade.

So far, MV Agusta has made two major moves, both related to the World Superbike series. First of all, MV brought Marco Melandri as an official tester for the brand. Melandri has lost his MotoGP ride at Aprilia earlier this year, confronted with a consummate lack of results in the first half of the season.

As for the second move, some might find it a bit surprising. MV Agusta will have Forward Racing's Giovanni Cuzari as racing boss. That is, Cuzari will be in charge of Agusta's Reparto Corse. He will be helped by Team Manager Andrea Quadranti.

We are winning in World Supersport, growing better in World Superbike, the natural move is MotoGP

Giovanni Castiglioni sounds very confident when he says that returning to MotoGP is the highest goal and a natural course of action. He mentions the excellent results in Supersport, where Zanetti and Cluzel are 3rd and 4th, respectively, and the increased competitiveness in WSBK.

Team Forward Racing comes with solid experience in road racing, as they fielded both MotoGP and Moto2 teams, with excellent results, and MV Agusta can benefit a lot from their track expertise.

The liter-class platform will be renewed for 2016, and no less than three 1000cc MV Agusta motorcycles are expected next year. Considering how dynamic MV Agusta have been in the last couple of years, it would not be entirely surprising to see them back to MotoGP maybe as soon as 2017 if we're lucky.

Why this has good chances of happening, we'll tell you later this week.
