Mustang Essay Contest Won by Soldier in Iraq

Well, the competition is done and Ford has named its winner, an American soldier who is right now in Iraq, the new proud owner of a Mustang 2010. His love for the American brand and the Mustang in general for all these years has finally paid off because he managed to sway the people's opinion in his favor.

In case you didn't know, Mustang celebrated its new 2010 model with a contest, giving away a free car to a lucky fan who would be able to write an essay about the Mustang and how it changed his life.

Kory Chester from Edgewater, Florida wrote a 242-word essay describing his passion for the Mustang and somehow managed to swing everyone's opinion that he deserves to be the winner of the car. In the essay he goes on to say how he fell in love with the car when he first saw it at a traffic stop when he was little and how ever since he's been obsessed with it.

There is also a picture of the lucky chap, siting in the desert in front of a vehicle with the Mustang logo fitted on the grille. Aside from the car, Chester here also won two tickets to the LA Auto Show where the car will be premiered to the world. And just in time, because that's when Chester will be returning home.

And to give you an idea of what it took to win the car, here's an except from his essay: “Every opportunity I get I'm online poring through forums and pictures; studying every little tidbit of knowledge I can get my hands on; meticulously memorizing seemingly insignificant trivia. Names, dates, specs, colors, paint codes, production numbers, costs, anything, everything. A Mustang of my own wouldn't quell this life I live – it would supercharge it”.
