Buyers of the 2019 Mustang Bullitt are offered a choice between Highland Green and Shadow Black. Now Ford has finished the car in a third color, Kona Blue, but it's only a one-off made for charity.
Ford is always big on helping those in need, especially children. They auctioned off the very first Bullitt to roll off the assembly line, and it got a lot of money. This time, they are organizing it as a raffle. The Blue Oval plans to sell up to 60,000 tickets at $10 a piece. All the money will go towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
In theory, this means Ford can double the $300,000 made using the first Bullitt for the benefit of the Boys Republic, a school and treatment center that Steve McQueen graduated from in 1946. Let's just hope the owner doesn't hide it away until he auctions it off for a profit, as is usually the case with one-off cars. It's worth noting that a standard 2019 Bullitt Mustang retails for around $47,000.
The online store will offer them until November 9th, and the winner will be announced on November 13th. While the car doesn't come with many other changes, $10 for the chance of owning a one-off Bullitt while helping out some kids sounds like a good thing.
In all regards other than the color, this is just like any other model, meaning its 5.0-liter V8 engine is able to deliver 480 horsepower, 20 more than a regular Mustang GT, as well as 420 lb-ft (568 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual will allow it to reach a top speed of 163 mph (262 km/h) which is an eight mph upgrade.
Modern Bullitt models also come with upgrades such as a limited slip differential and Brembo brakes with sexy red calipers, which you can see peeking out from behind the black wheels. Our favorite feature is perhaps the active performance exhaust.
