Here's one truly uplifting demonstration of vision and passion combining into a project which is simply stunning: Aniket Vardhan's dream of building his own V-twin engine out of two Royal Enfield thumpers is finally accomplished in the shape of the Musket 998.
Aniket Vardhan is an US-based Indian industrial design teacher, but his passion for motorcycles goes well beyond teaching. At least well beyond teaching others, as during the last years he has been learning the arts of machining and casting needed to see his dream come true: building a large power unit using only standard Enfield parts.

The result finally materialized in a brutal V-twin with fantastic classic looks and a sound which puts many other engines to shame. Aniket Vardhan has basically "frankensteined" his Musket 998 using two 449cc Bullets: for now it rests in a Bullet 500 frame, but a special chassis is being conceived as we speak.

Before rigurous road tests will start, it only remains to see a nifty exhaust line and hear an even more montrous new thundering roar from the Musket 998. And looking back at what Aniket Vardhan has already accomplished, it's most likely a matter of time until we get to see an Enfield like no other. Awesome!
