Muscle cars are nice, but some of the best lines on an American car are on the big boys, the leviathans that rocked the luxury world in the 60s and 70s. The 1966 Lincoln Continental proves this and also borrows a few tricks from Ford's ponies.
This project was completed about three years ago and picked up a few awards, including SEMA ones. But it flew right under our radar until today.

Do you know that sick car with suicide rear doors in the first Matrix movie? Trinity is all cool like "Neo, get in," and then she gets the big machine to suck the bug out of his stomach. Well, Lincoln would make that scene twice as good.

To say that it's heavily modified would be an understatement. Our favorite part of the build is not the engine, but the bodywork. The 1966 Continental gets some insanely cool flush door handles, and every panel gap is taken care of.

Those look like the windows from the Continental convertible, enabling the B-pillar delete. Matte black gives it a murdered-out look in combination with satin black bumpers.

The stance is also heavily modified with the help of some custom air suspension. The Lincoln logos on these block alloys help sell the restomod theme.

This epic build is from a company called Divers Street Rods in Sultan, Washington. Dubbed the "Bada** Lincoln" it also delivers a lot in the powertrain department.

Under that side-hinged hood is a supercharged, DOHC, 32-valve, 5.8-liter Trinity V8 engine. Plucked out of a 2013 or 2014 Ford Shelby GT500, this was the most powerful engine in a stock Mustang at that time.

Out of the box, it made 662 horsepower but has been modified all the way to 700 hp. The Lincoln is equipped with a four-speed 4R100 automatic out of a Super Duty, a 9-inch rear end, not to mention all the immaculate suspension bits you could ever want.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
