Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally has revealed the automakers plan to add a further 7,000 jobs in the next couple of years, as he believes in the strength of the US economy going forward.
According to Bloomberg, Ford has stated in discussions with the UAW union for a new four-year contract that a full 10,000 jobs could be added.

“We are actually going to add nearly 7,000 new jobs in the U.S. over the next two years. And you can imagine that with that backdrop that the attitude of everybody is how do we continue to make progress, because what we all care about is growing the business and providing great jobs and great careers,” the CEO, who was in Thailand today, stated.

“We’re still seeing economic expansion. It is relatively less than we’ve had following previous recessions. But clearly the recession we went through is the worst that we’ve had since the Depression, so we’re very encouraged by the recovery,”
Mulally added.
