Street racing makes another victim, showing once again that high speeds are extremely dangerous especially when you're not even wearing your seat belt. This time, the driver who died in a fiery car crash was MTV star Kandice Hutchison from "A Double Shot at Love".
The tragic accident is assumed to have been caused by street racing as MTV star's Nissan 350Z sport coupe slammed into a concrete barrier, last Tuesday, on Airport Freeway, according to Star Telegram. Due to the impact, Kandice was ejected from the car and died on the spot, while the vehicle burst into flames. The unfortunate incident happened about 2:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Airport Freeway.
It appears that the 22-year-old star's car was racing down the Airport Freeway in Euless, Texas along with a Mazda 6, when the two decided to overtake a Mustang. After they passed the Mustang on both sides (Mazda on the left and Kandice's Nissan on the right), as she was driving at high speed, she could no longer control the vehicle, bumped the Mazda and eventually crashed into the concrete barrier.
“A car in front of her saw her coming and attempted to move over, but her car bumped that vehicle,” Euless police Lt. John Williams said Tuesday. “That sent her into the median.”
Moreover, during the investigation, police officers had to close part of Airport Freeway between Industrial Boulevard and Main Street for about eight hours.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office was the one to identify the body in the person of Kandice Hutchison who was not wearing the seat belt when the accident happened. However, no other injuries were reported following the deadly race.
