Despite all the blood, sweat and tears needed at this moment to make future products and racing programs happen, the Woking-based company’s personalization program is not that affected by the overloaded workload. If you scroll down a little, you’ll see a red P1 hypercar wearing a hue created by the McLaren Special Operations skunkworks.

Dubbed Satin Volcano Red, the latest project vehicle from MSO boasts with Satin Volcano Red on most of its exterior, except for the ever-important unpainted carbon fiber elements. A few bits and bobs are glossy, but what makes the exterior so special is the contrast between the red brake calipers and black alloy wheels versus the red and naked carbon fiber body.

Look very closely at the second pic in our gallery and you’ll observe a gold heat shield for the P1’s exhaust. In a similar fashion to grandpa F1’s engine bay, McLaren plated the exhaust system’s heat shield with 24-carat gold ‘cos gold is the best heat conductor out there. What about cabin enhancements?

Well, a small number of bespoke touches including have been operated inside as well. It was mandatory considering this is a project of the McLaren Special Operations team. As you can see for yourself below, the center stack is finished in the same Satin Volcano Red paint as the exterior. Last but not least, even the upholstery is garnished with red stitching to fashionably contrast with the black leather.
