Mr October to Witness Auction of His Own Shelby Mustang

The upcoming RM inaugural Auburn Spring Collector Car Auction by Auctions America will offer buyers the chance not only to get a collectible car, but one owned by Mr. October himself. Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson, will be making his way to Auburn, Indiana, this spring to watch his prized 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 go under the hammer.

The 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 in question is estimated at $175,000 - $225,000.

“This is a superbly presented car, highly original and well maintained. Its sale represents a terrific opportunity to own an outstanding GT350 from the first production year of the Shelby Mustang, and from the private collection of none other than "Mr. October.",”
a statement from Auctions America reads.

The event is scheduled to take place on May 12 – 15, 2011 at the 235-acre Auburn Auction Park. Over the course of the weekend, 1,000 motor cars and motorcycles will cross the auction podium.

"We're so pleased that RM's long-time friend, Reggie Jackson, has chosen Auctions America's inaugural Auburn Spring event as the venue to offer his highly-desirable Shelby Mustang for sale,"
said Donnie Gould, President, Auctions America by RM. "We encourage all enthusiasts and their families to join us in Auburn this May for the first of what is sure to become a spring tradition for the collector car community."

At the recently held RM Auctions event in Arizona, the baseball legend, nicknamed "Mr. October" for his clutch hitting in the postseason, netted more than $1 million on the sale of three cars. The star was his 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder, joined by two 1967 Chevrolet Corvettes.
